Welcome to the S&B web site!
As hobby (but seriously so) woodturners and woodworkers ourselves, we at Stiles and Bates woodturning and hardwood supplies have always set out to have a real treasure trove for woodturners and craftspeople from our ever increasing stock of home-grown and exotic timbers and blanks through to lathes, bandsaws and other woodworking machinery, tools, accessories, chucks and finishing products.
And we back them all up with enthusiastic and knowledgeable service!

We have added also more Record Power wood working machinery including a planer thicknesser and table saw.

Our Online Shop
Thank you all once again for making the last year so busy for us.
We had a brand new site designed to make browsing for information and buying through our online shop even easier and are told we got it about right!
Our new facility of asking you to register delivery details will help us process our increasing online orders even more quickly and allow you to log into your password protected account and check progress and past order history.
If you have an queries on our registration process, we hope our Registering FAQs page will answer them all.
By popular request we have also added a new Search facility in the online shop.
Online orders, postal mail order and walk in customers have increased steadily over the years and although we thought last year was busy, but this past year has been hectic and fun too.
We know that much of this came as a result of your kind references, either by word of mouth or via woodworking and club forums and we do appreciate it.

| Our Courses
Woodturning is a craft which has seen a huge rise in popularity in recent years, and like carpentry and cabinet work, is not just for the boys!
It is creative, absorbing, affordable and does not require a huge workshop.
We hold beginner/refresher courses designed to give or refresh the basic skills so you can go back to your own workshop and create beautiful and practical items from simple pieces of wood.
For those who have mastered the basic cuts and wish to explore or improve techniques on specific projects, we have a series of one day project courses.
The only limit is your imagination!
